Alongr / ThaiGo product ecosystem

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026

This provisional Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Alongr, the web frontend for the product ecosystem also served by the ThaiGo iOS app. Alongr and ThaiGo use the same accounts and shared Supabase backend. This policy will be reviewed and refined before the full public launch.

Information connected to your account

When you sign in or maintain an account, the service may process your authentication identifier and account details supplied through the authentication provider, including Apple where you choose Sign in with Apple. Your profile may include your name or display name, date of birth, gender, nationality, from/current-country information, location label, biography, interests and other preferences you choose to provide.

Location and activity

Alongr can use location information to support discovery and location-based Plans and Groups. Depending on the feature and the permission you grant, this may include an approximate area or a more precise device location. Location is used according to the product’s privacy and eligibility rules; do not share a location you do not want associated with your activity. We also process activity information such as Plans and Groups you create or join, friendships, blocks, notifications and interactions with the service.

Content and communications

We process profile photos and other media you upload, as well as messages sent in direct conversations, Plan conversations and Group conversations. We process this content to provide the requested social features, protect users, enforce rules and respond to reports. Do not send information that you do not want other conversation participants to receive.

Safety, verification and moderation

The ecosystem may process verification information and evidence, including verification status, pose information and verification imagery where the feature is used. It also processes reports, blocks, moderation actions and account restrictions. These records support safety, fraud prevention, moderation and the operation of blocking and reporting tools. Access to sensitive information is controlled by the relevant service permissions and backend rules.

Notifications and technical information

If you enable notifications, the service may process notification preferences and device or push identifiers needed to deliver them. We also receive technical and usage information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, such as requests, device/browser context, timestamps and feature activity. The exact data collected can depend on the platform and feature you use.

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, show profiles and discovery results, provide Plans, Groups, messaging and notifications, apply privacy and eligibility rules, support verification, prevent abuse, investigate reports, maintain security, troubleshoot failures and improve the service. We do not use this policy to promise a particular retention period or sharing practice where the current product evidence does not establish one.

Service providers

The service relies on Supabase for shared authentication, database, server-side functions and storage capabilities. Apple may process information when you use Apple authentication or platform services. Other providers may be added as the product develops; where they materially affect personal information, this policy will be updated. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, protect users, meet operational requirements and resolve disputes or legal issues, subject to the applicable backend deletion and cleanup behavior. Some records, such as safety, moderation, security or legal records, may need to remain for a period after account deletion. You can request account deletion through the supported account flow when available; deletion may remove account, profile, content and associated storage data subject to that flow’s safeguards and necessary exceptions.

Security

We use access controls, backend authorization rules and operational safeguards intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials and device secure, and report suspected abuse or account compromise promptly.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of information. Requests may require verification and may be limited where keeping or disclosing information is necessary for safety, security or legal reasons. For privacy questions or requests, use the support contact described on the Support page. This policy does not replace rights provided by applicable law.

We may update this policy as Alongr moves from temporary legal readiness to full public launch. The effective date above identifies the current version.
